Liverpool are reportedly increasing interest in signing Premier League forward from one rival club in the transfer market.

Reports suggest that the Reds continue to plot a summer transfer window swoop for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

The Swedish forward has been impressive since joining Newcastle in 2022, and has carried that form into this season, which has attracted interest from several top clubs.

The striker has netted 19 times in the Premier League this campaign and recently just hit the 50 goals mark in English top flight football.

Liverpool’s interest in Isak heightens

Isak’s performances and form in the league this season have caught the attention of Liverpool, who are reportedly considering him as a potential addition to their squad to improve their attacking options.

According to AnythingLFC, “Liverpool have a growing interest in Alexander Isak according to Newcastle correspondence Martin Hardy.”

There is talk that Newcastle might be forced to sell the striker if they are unable to secure Champions League football for next season.

Although any deal for the 25-year-old will not come cheap, those at Anfield are on high alert with the forward’s situation on Tyneside.

Alexander Isak has a valid contract with Newcastle until 2028, he joined from Real Sociedad in 2022 for over £60m.

The forward has showcased his goal scoring ability and technical skills since coming to the PL, but he has brought the former to the fore this season while displaying a predatory eye for goal.

With Liverpool looking to bolster their attack next season, Isak’s profile fits the type of striker that Arne Slot needs. His ability to play across the frontline, coupled with his sharp finishing and intelligence on the ball, has made him a standout talent.

However, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool will make a move for the striker, as they could face serious competition from several big hitters across Europe’s major leagues.
