Liverpool fans were amazed by the skill display of Luis Diaz against the Toffees
The skill showed by Liverpool mid-season signing Luis Diaz, against Everton in the Derby was just above par.
Liverpool saw their neighbours ‘through’ by a difference of two goals to nil in an ugly tactical game by Everton.
This kept Liverpool in second place with one point difference and moved Frank Lampard’s side into the relegation zone.
Luis Diaz ball-handling skill left the home fans stunned
Diaz entered the game at the 1-hour mark, and till he played it was an array of his skills, he played an important part in Liverpool’s win over rivals Everton.
The Colombian had replaced Sadio Mane and helped the team to get over the line. He was brought in only at the 60th-minute mark right before the first goal was scored by Andy Robertson at ’62.
However, those 30 odd minutes that Liverpool’s No. 23 played were enough to catch the attention of the fans.
A special moment in the game in which the player perfectly ‘handles’ a long ball with an ‘air rabona’ left the fans in disbelief.
Many fans and supporters showed their admiration and reaction to that move on social media as well.
Set-up for the second goal
Liverpool converted their second goal, after receiving a corner at the 84th minute of the game.
It was Henderson who had played the corner ball back in, and it took a special bicycle kick from Luis. Unfortunately, the ball bounced across the goal, but substitute Divock Origi was quick to react and head the ball in.
The second ‘thumping’ (goal) clearly meant doors shut for ‘The Toffees’ as the Red side emerged victorious.
The Colombian Magic
Since his move from Porto 3 months ago, Luis Diaz has shown why Liverpool chose him over others. Diaz’s form and adaptation have been sensational.
Luis has quickly adapted to the team and conditions well, coming from Portugal. He has represented the Reds in 18 games across all competitions and holds four goals and three assists.
With him playing with and against world-class players in the premier league, he is only to get better and better. A bright future at Liverpool awaits him, as he sure does possess the capabilities to become the best.
