League Cup Final

According to recent news about the League Cup final, Liverpool now have a possible disadvantage for the game.

Liverpool faces Chelsea in the League Cup final on the 27th of February. The referee and assistants are now confirmed for the game and it doesn’t looks good for Liverpool.

Among the appointments is Darren England, who will be the VAR official for the game. Thus, Liverpool fans know how he can put a negative impact on the game for the Reds

Controversial appointment for League Cup Final?

The appointment of Darren England is a controversial one due to a few reasons.

He was in the VAR Booth in the last two games for Liverpool and each had a penalty disallowed. Against Leicester City, Daniel Amartey brought him down in the box, but Liverpool did not get a penalty.

Something similar happened in the game against Burnley. Burnley striker Wout Weghorst bought Salah down in the box, but once again due to VAR Liverpool were denied a penalty.

Then again, almost every club fanbase has a problem with some or the other match officials.

The PGMOL (Professional Game Match Officials Limited), the body responsible for officials in English professional football, has a clear faith in English referees. Hopefully, their decision works out.

Other appointments include Stuart Attwell as the referee, with Dan Cook and Dan Robathan as his assistants. While the fourth official is Andy Madley.

Keeping all this in mind, there will be a keen eye on Darren England in the League Cup Final. Hopefully, no unfair decision goes against Liverpool in their first final of the campaign!

Meanwhile, Klopp’s side will be eager to get their hands on the domestic cup trophy as they have now been waiting for almost a decade now to get some domestic success.

Hopefully, Liverpool are able to get the domestic glory they desire this year!
