Why Darwin Nunez will miss Nottingham clash?
The situation has been popped out almost mid-season. Darwin will be facing a one-match ban due to his bookings this season.
In the clash against Man United, he got booked in the second period, just 17 minutes after he was introduced from the bench.
That was Nunez’s fifth Premier League yellow card of the current season, which resulted in an automatic one-match ban.
As per the rule book in the Premier League, if you receive five yellow cards in the first 19 fixtures you are liable for a one-match suspension. If Nunez had received his 5th yellow card in his 20th game he won’t have suffered this ban.
The Forest match will be Liverpool’s 20th match and the first after the cut-off for the automatic one-match ban for receiving five yellow cards rule.
The needless booking can frustrate Arne Slot who will be without their striker for the top-of-the-table clash at the City Ground.
Forest are currently third in the table but can move up on the table to the second position ahead of Arsenal with the win against the Reds.
Both teams being the top contenders this season can deliver a much-anticipated match, leading to a fierce battle on the City Ground turf. Liverpool winning this match can increase the point difference between them and the 2nd position team.
