Arne Slot’s team has been drawn to face French giants Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16. The two teams are set to battle it out across two legs for a spot in the quarter-final.

The first leg will be held in France at the Parc des Princes on March 4th, with the Reds having the advantage of playing the return leg at Anfield on March 11th.

The draw also confirmed the Reds’ path to the UCL final scheduled to take place in Munich on May 31st.

The Reds will play the winner of the tie between Club Brugge and Aston Villa in the quarter-final, while the semi-final will be against Real Madrid/Atletico Madrid or PSV Eindhoven/Arsenal.

The new Champions League format has all the teams put into a position in a bracket, rather than the draws that took place previously up until the semi-final.

This means that the routes to the final can be drawn out from being positioned in the silver half or the blue half of the bracket.

According to thisisanfield, Liverpool are in the silver half of the bracket, and as such cannot face heavy hitters like Bayern Munich and Barcelona, till the final in Munich as they are in the blue half of the bracket.

Should the men in Red make it through the clash with PSG, they will play the first leg of the quarter-final and the second leg of the semi-final at Anfield.

The remaining dates in this season’s Champions League are: Round of 16 first leg-March 4th/5th, Round of 16-second leg-March 11th/12th, Quarter-final first leg-April 8th/9th, Quarter-final second leg-April 15th/16th, Semi-final first leg-April 29th/30th, Semi-final second leg-May 6th/7th, Final-May 31st.
