Liverpool is ready to secure a deal for Jeremy Doku from Rennes. The Merseyside giants opted to bring in just one high-profile player during the last summer transfer window. This means Jurgen Klopp might look to freshen up the squad in the upcoming transfer window.

Liverpool’s attacking trio Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino all have less than two years remaining on their contracts. Thus, the Reds and Jurgen Klopp will try to find young players as alternatives, who can fill the shoes left vacant by the trio in the coming future.

Will Liverpool be successful in pursuit of Doku?

Liverpool is currently leading the race to sign Jeremy Doku during January 2022 transfer window. According to RTL Sport, the Premier league Side Liverpool are in a good position to sign Belgium International Doku.

Liverpool have been Observing the 19-year-old Belgium International for a long time, Jeremy Doku Has scored only two goals and four assists coming from his 41 appearances in all competitions.

Jeremy Doku is a fleet-footed Belgian international wonder kid. He looked impressive in the European Championships this summer. The pacy winger was linked with Liverpool even before his move from Anderlecht to Rennes last year.

Doku could turn out to be a future Investment for the Reds. Moreover, even if Liverpool decides to keep their prolific winger (Mane), Doku could strengthen the left-wing department.

Meanwhile, Salah and Mane will be representing their respective countries at the Africa cup of nations. Thus, the Reds will frequently miss their services while they will be on their international duties. The tournament will be commencing from 9th January 2022 and last till 6th February 2022.  

So the reds will be eager to find a substitute not just for this season but for the upcoming seasons as well to handle such situations.
