Liverpool’s game against Shrewsbury Town showed who all were unavailable for the game against Arsenal in the postponed EFL cup tie.

Liverpool’s seven first-team players were missing for Sunday’s FA cup 4-1 win.

Jurgen Klopp however did say that only Trent Alexander-Arnold had Covid and others were available for Liverpool’s postponed EFL tie.

Although Reports from Sky Sports suggest that Trent will be back in training soon.

He also added that there were a lot of “false-positive” cases in the squad.

Liverpool had eighteen missing players before EFL cup game against Arsenal

Fans, however, did have some good news in the return of Joel Matip and Roberto Firmino who were in isolation for the EFL game.

Allison Becker, the first team goalkeeper, was missing and the reason for his absence still remains a mystery.

Whether Liverpool’s star goalkeeper would be available or not for the EFL cup game against Arsenal remains unclear.

Reports also suggest that the first team only resumed training on Monday and are preparing for the EFL cup game.

Five injured players plus the African Cup of Nations trio left Liverpool with 18 missing players for the Arsenal game.

In an interview, Klopp did acknowledge that it had been a tough week for the Reds due to the absence of players.

Reports suggest that Liverpool’s academy also had cases, with Sunday goalscorer Kaide Gordon recently recovering from Covid.

There were also rumours that all of Liverpool’s first-team goalkeepers had tested positive, but these turned out to be false.

Currently, Thiago, Divock Origi, Takumi Minamino, Harvey Elliott and Nat Phillips are the injured players.

While players like Diogo Jota, captain Jordan Henderson, Joe Gomez were all in isolation and have only recently come out.

With Minamino injured and Origi’s future unclear, it will be interesting to see who Klopp starts upfront against Arsenal.

Could we see Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain start upfront with Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota?

Or could we see the return of some academy stars like Kaide Gordon, a goalscorer in the FA cup?

Also, who do you reckon would start at right-back in the absence of Trent Alexander-Arnold?

Will it be James Milner? Or academy star Conor Bradley?
