Klopp gives his advice to Tyler Morton on becoming a Liverpool starter

Liverpool got past Preston in the round of 16 with Tyler Morton catching the eye of Jurgen Klopp. The Reds young squad travelled to North End, with Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino both getting on the scoresheet.

Morton displayed one of the most outstanding performances for the much-changed Reds in their tricky 2-0 triumph against the Lilywhites.

The 18-year-old midfielder started for the Reds for the 1st time in this game. The youngster earned his senior debut in the second half of the previous round’s victory over Norwich City.

Morton contributed in the 62nd-minute, opening with a superb raking ball that released Neco Williams beyond the Preston defence to provide a cross that eventually was tucked in by Minamino.

With his first performance in the Liverpool shirt, Tyler Morton really impressed the German boss. Klopp has even churned up with a plan to make him a regular starter. Praising Morton’s performance, Klopp said

Tyler is a real talent and a real smart footballer. His natural movements and natural positioning is really good. He is a smart boy and his technique is really good.

Klopp suggested that the 18-year-old should focus more on his physique and prepare himself for adult football.

Who is Liverpool starlet Tyler Morton?

Tyler Morton is a feisty midfielder who joined Liverpool as a seven-year-old from the local side Greenlees FC.

The English midfielder has since then developed himself as quite an extraordinary player, thus making himself a regular mainstay for the under-18s in 2019/20. He is currently a first-choice starter for Barry Lewtas’ team and made his U23 breakthrough last season.

The young Reds are in this year’s UEFA Youth League and Tyler is their captain.

Liverpool already have filled positions for a young midfielder. As a result, it is doubtful that Morton will be a regular starter in the senior squad at this point.

However, with Thiago’s calf injury unknown and Harvey Elliott out indefinitely, Therefore, the prospects of further openings to impress have surely risen.

Thus, the Reds could give chances to some impressive young lad, who can help in fixing up their temprory issues. .
