Arne Slot sends message to Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool wins 2024/25 Premier League

No Jurgen Klopp, no big signings in the last two transfer windows, no problem for Liverpool as the Reds have emerged as the champions of the English Premier League under Arne Slot.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot changed the dynamics of the team to win the Premier League title in his debut season. The Dutch manager achieved this height with some decisions and changes he made this season.

Arne Slot became only the fifth manager to win the Premier League title in his debut season.

But now the question is how Arne Slot achieved this after Liverpool had just a 5.1 per cent chance of winning the Premier League, according to the Opta supercomputer at the start of the season.

What are the factors that changed the destiny of Arne Slot and Liverpool?

Klopp to Slot: Liverpool’s winning transition

The first major change is making a squad player a top-notch player. Players such as Gravenberch and Luis Diaz were more like squad players under Jurgen Klopp. However, under Arne Slot, both are relentless.

Gravenberch played more matches and played more time this season than last season. Arne Slot showed more faith in Luis Diaz, and his performance improved significantly this season.

Slot’s mentoring and guidance of Gravenberch has been a masterstroke. The Dutch international has been one of the best players this season, growing in confidence and influence as the campaign has progressed.

His performance in the central midfield zone and also in tight areas was unmatchable.

Another key factor behind this success is the defensive improvement in the current Liverpool team. The Reds were very good when they were out of possession of the ball.

The team closes up the gap, presses quickly, which ultimately makes it hard for the opponent to pass efficiently, and forces long balls.

This was a pattern for the Reds throughout the season, making them a very strong defensive side this season. Arne Slot’s side are in second place in the list of conceding fewer goals(32), only Arsenal has conceded fewer goals (29) till now.

Finally, the brilliance of Mohamed Salah is also an important factor in Liverpool’s title success. Salah has been this season’s standout goalscorer with 28 goals and creator with 18 assists.

The Egyptian international is directly contributing to 58 per cent of Liverpool’s tally of 75 goals. He is the only Premier League player with over 50 per cent involvement in their team’s goals.

Salah became the first player in Premier League history to go to double figures both in goals and assists before Christmas.

This is the best Premier League season for him for most goals and assists(46) combined ever. So, arguably, without his contribution, this achievement for both Liverpool and Arne Slot would not have been possible.
