Garth Crooks gives an explanation why he has not mentioned Mohamed Salah in his premier league team of the year.

Garth Anthony Crooks is an English football pundit and former professional player. He played for some top clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

Moreover, former England forward names his Premier League team of the week each week on the BBC website. BBC released Sports pundit’s Team of the Year for 2021, and many supporters were surprised to see that Garth Crooks has omitted Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah from his team.

Garth Crooks explains why he left Salah out of the team

Salah, who is currently being called as the best player in the world at the moment. The in-form player, who has led the Premier League for both goals and assists in the calendar year. The Egyptian broke many records for the club in England and in European competitions. Salah is the current name on the lips of all English Football fans across the globe. However, he was not in the team of the year of Garth Crooks.

Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden and Michail Antonio were the front three who Garth preferred in his lineup. Moreover, the fans criticise him as a “brainless moron” and “the very worst pundit out there.” He has included Salah in last weekend Premier league team of the week after his game against Chelsea.

Garth Crooks wrote an explanation for the controversy over not selecting Mo Salah in his team of the year. He Wrote

I heard my non-selection of Mohamed Salah in my team of the year got one or two a little hot under the collar,”

Well, I make no apologies for that. Salah made my team of the season but crudely chased the Golden Boot award.

His selfishness had a negative effect on Sadio Mane in particular and, in my view, had an adverse effect on Liverpool’s campaign last season – a point I made at the time.

Well many English Football media knows not to take Garth Crooks opinions seriously. But still, Salah is the current best player not only in the league but in the world.

Crooks might have wanted to present a different team from the rest of the pundits who released their team of the year. But still leaving the best player out in a team of the year is something people will do when they are want to highlight themselves.
