Liverpool have made many mistakes in their past, be it signing new players or selecting the wrong manager. Now, Jamie Carragher has recently spoken his heart out about LFC signing Mario Balotelli.

Carragher has played for Liverpool and been there for the club as a loyal sports personality. Even before expressing his thoughts about the striker, we have always seen him being outspoken and logical.

Jamie Carragher was aware that signing Mario Balotelli was a mistake

Over the years, a lot of senior stars have left the Merseyside Club for different reasons. When Luis Suarez left Liverpool, Balotelli had a brief stint here in Anfield, which was quite disastrous.

According to Jamie Carragher, Liverpool made a blunder the moment they even thought about signing Mario Balotelli. The Italian striker might be a strong option when it comes to developing the attacking side to its full potential. Recently, on the Overlap’s Fan Debate, as hosted by Sky Bet, things took an interesting turn.

As the topic turned to worst Premier League transfers, Chloe Bloxam took a shot at the Italian ace. Jamie Carragher instantly jumped in to admit that he knew Mario Balotelli was never a good option for Liverpool.

“I’d forgotten about Balotelli, that was almost one of those signings that you almost know it’s going to fail before it even happened.”

In all of his 28 appearances for the Reds, Mario only managed to score 4 goals in all of them. Under Klopp’s reign, he got eventually released after spending some time in Milan.

Jamie Carragher, who has been a loyal and solid performer for Liverpool, did not break a sweat while talking about Balotelli. The 34-year-old did not bring any value to the club while he was a part of the squad.
