The highly anticipated Carabao Cup final is finally here, but Liverpool star Firmino might not be present for it.

According to recent reports, Roberto Firmino will not be available for Liverpool for the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea this weekend.

The Brazilian’s abductor injury is worse than it was previously thought out to be. He will not have enough time on his side to recover by this weekend.

Firmino set to miss out on the Carabao cup final

While Liverpool will miss Firmino, news also suggests that Diogo Jota might be available. The Portuguese is recovering quickly and even took part in an outdoor training session.

There’s still a chance that Diogo Jota won’t start. He might be named on the bench, with one of Takumi Minamino or Divock Origi set to miss out.

However, there’s still no guarantee and the next couple of days will be vital.

While Liverpool stress over Firmino and Jota, it seems they have found time to make an offer for Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio.

Reports claim that both Liverpool and Arsenal have offered Marco Asensio a contract to move to their club for free. This is despite the Spaniard’s contract running out only next season.

Another Spaniard who made the news recently was Thiago. The midfielder made his 50th appearance for the club in the six-nil win over Leeds United.

Talking about the Leeds game, it is important to note that AFCON winner Sadio Mane is now the league’s third-highest goalscorer. His eleven goals in the premier league have now made him the only player to have scored 10+ goals every season for the past eight seasons.

Not bad for a player way past his prime!

This was the Liverpool round-up for this week. Hopefully, Liverpool star Firmino comes back quick and the Reds are able to get a good result on the weekend. Fans will hope that Liverpool finally clinches that domestic trophy they have been waiting for!
