Fabrizio Romano gives an important update on transfer plan of Liverpool after a frustrating winter window

Fabrizio Romano gives an update on the transfer plan of Liverpool FC after a disappointing Deadline Day.

The month of January was challenging for the Reds. Jurgen Klopp’s team has had a poor stretch on the field, winning just one of their last six games.

They thus lost more ground in the battle for the top four and were eliminated from the FA Cup.

Off the field, the team has had a discouraging transfer window in which they have been unable to add any midfield reinforcements.

Fabrizio Romano claimed on Monday night that Liverpool were in a prime position to sign Jude Bellingham in the summer. This is despite the club’s lack of activity in the January market.

Fabrizio Romano comments on the transfer strategy of Liverpool

Fabrizio said:

“Liverpool are really really pushing for Jude Bellingham and are having contact on the players’ side and with Borussia Dortmund.”

Bellingham has become the most sought-after midfielder in international football with his performances for Borussia Dortmund and England.

The 19-year-old is reportedly a target for Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea. Moreover, he is also wanted by Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid on the continent.

In fact, Nunes is reportedly a summer target for Liverpool. According to reports, the Reds looked into the potential of signing the 24-year-old during the January transfer window. But the deal was not realistically feasible.

According to FIFA rules, the player cannot play for a third club this season. It’s because he had already played in competitive games for Sporting and Wolves.

Liverpool are mired in ninth place in the Premier League. They have been eager to revitalize its sluggish and aging midfield.

In fact, moves for some of the most sought-after players in football, such as Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez, have been linked to the Reds this summer.

Gravenberch recently made the £20 million switch from Ajax to Bayern Munich last summer. He was reportedly hoping to leave Bavaria.

But unfortunately, that deal also never went through.
