Liverpool are flying under new manager Arne Slot with just one loss so far this season, the Reds are top of the Premier League and Champions League.
Nobody expected Liverpool to make such a strong start to the season after Jurgen Klopp left in the summer. Slot has turned Liverpool into a top side this season with the same team he inherited from Klopp. Federico Chiesa and Mamardashvili (sent on loan) were the only signings made.
What Arne Slot said on his Liverpool move?
Speaking to TNT Sports, the Liverpool boss revealed:
“The biggest change was in my private life, professionally I felt at home after a few days, so from the start.” Arne Slot on his move to Liverpool
“My expectations were not about the amount of wins or those kinds of things. When you come into a new club you want the team to play, as soon as they can, to the standards you want them to play, getting across your ideas as soon as possible.” Slot added.
Slot also revealed that the owners expressed an interest in his playing style above anything else and that was important to him.
During his time at Feyenoord, Arne Slot managed to win the Eredivisie title and Dutch Cup. But the Liverpool owners were more impressed with his playing style.
Slot felt that he inherited a really good team from Jurgen Klopp that did well for so many seasons so there was no need to change anything.
The Reds will meet their final test before November’s international break against Aston Villa today.
