Liverpool are set to face Brentford at Anfield in their second Premier League match of the season, but injury concerns loom large over the Reds. New head coach Arne Slot, who took over during the summer, will be making his first appearance on the Anfield touchline for a competitive fixture.

Despite the excitement, the team faces an early-season challenge with young defender Jarell Quansah potentially sidelined due to an injury.

Quansah’s fitness in doubt for Brentford clash

Arne Slot revealed in his Friday press conference that Quansah picked up an injury during training earlier this week.

“On Tuesday, he picked up a bit of an injury and couldn’t train on Wednesday,” Slot explained. The young defender’s fitness is now in question for the upcoming match against Brentford.

While Slot tried to downplay the severity of the situation, saying, “I don’t think there is too much into it,” it remains uncertain whether Quansah will be available for selection.

If Quansah is unable to play, Liverpool still have a solid lineup of defenders to choose from, including Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, and Nat Phillips.

However, the potential absence of Quansah could be a blow, especially with Liverpool looking to build on their victory over Ipswich Town in the season opener.

As Liverpool prepares for Brentford, the full squad is available, except for the potential absence of Quansah.

The team’s options across the field are strong, with the likes of Alisson Becker in goal, Virgil van Dijk leading the defense, and a midfield packed with talent like Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai. Up front, Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, and Darwin Nunez will be key to Liverpool’s attacking threats.

Liverpool fans will be eagerly awaiting the final team news as kickoff approaches, hoping to see a strong lineup capable of securing another three points.

All eyes will be on Anfield as Arne Slot leads the Reds in his first competitive home game, with the hope that Quansah can recover in time to play a part in the match.
