Thiago Alcantara is retuning to Liverpool after Barcelona job!

Former Liverpool star Thiago Alcantara is set to return to Anfield after his brief Barcelona stint as coaching staff.

Football is a game of uncertainty and surprises when expected the least. It creates moments out of nowhere and edges them in our memories permanently.

Although the magic of football is often discussed widely, the part concerning uncertainty is often forgotten.

Such uncertain incident happened this summer as LFC star Thiago Alcantara bid farewell to the club.

Days after his Anfield exit, the Spanish midfield maestro announced his retirement from football.

Despite being an exceptionally talented and immaculately technical baller, his career has been marred by injuries which hindered the process of reaching his full potential.

Coming through the youth ranks of FC Barcelona, he played two full seasons in the senior team before joining Bayern Munich in 2013 where he spent majority of his club career.

In the summer of 2020, Thiago joined the Reds in a €25m transfer where he ended his professional footballing career.

Thiago Alcantara is returning to Liverpool

Soon after retiring as a player, the Spaniard joined FC Barcelona as Technical Assistant to help their new coach Hansi Flick, who has previously worked with him closely, to acclimatise with Barcelona’s atmosphere.

However, on Friday, the Catalonian giants announced that Thiago has left the position of a coaching staff.

According to a report via Spanish media outlet Marca, the 33-year-old will be returning to Liverpool to spend the rest of the year in the UK due to tax reasons related to his redundancy at Anfield.

After January he has no more obligation to stay there and then he will be free to decide whether to join Barcelona or Liverpool as a technical staff.

Flick has already left the door open for him to rejoin as his staff at Nou Camp. Or else, he can start his managerial journey at Anfield through the youth ranks.

It would not pain a Kopite to see another Spaniard ex-Red excel at any managerial pursuit after the major success of Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen.

Whatever awaits for Thiago, he has the capability to become a successful manager as he has been under the guidance of coaching greats like Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp, Carlo Ancelotti and Hansi Flick.
