Mohamed Salah has Liverpool fans talking once again, but this time, it’s not just about his on-field brilliance.

The Egyptian King debuted a fresh goal celebration this season, drawing an imaginary bow and firing an arrow, and the reason behind it has both fans and pundits intrigued.

From UFC to Swifties: The Mohamed Salah Bow and Arrow Celebration explained

Salah, known for his iconic celebrations in the past, including ones inspired by his daughter, introduced a new celebration that has left many wondering about its origin.

In a fun twist, a fan post jokingly suggested that Salah’s latest move was related to Taylor Swift’s song “The Archer.” While this Swiftie joke went viral, the real reason behind the celebration is rooted in Salah’s love for UFC.

Speaking to Men in Blazers, Salah explained, “I was watching the UFC, [Alex] Pereira against Israel [Adesanya]. Adesanya, when he won the second fight against Pereira, celebrated like that. So I liked the celebration, that’s why I did it.”

He added with a laugh, “People are even saying it’s because of the Egyptian pharaohs and how they used to draw things in temples or pyramids. It’s funny, but I’m just a UFC fan.”

Swifties rally for Salah

With a fun fan theory connecting Salah’s celebration to Taylor Swift’s “The Archer,” Swifties have jumped on board to back the Liverpool star for the Premier League Player of the Month award. Some fans even joked that if Swift herself were a Liverpool fan, Salah would be guaranteed the title!

While this playful banter adds to the joy surrounding Salah’s latest form, the serious question remains – will this be the final year we see him in a Liverpool shirt?

As the Egyptian forward enjoys his final contract year, all eyes are on his future. But for now, Salah has made it clear: “I just want to enjoy the last year and not think about what’s next.”

With a celebration fit for a pharaoh—or a UFC fighter—Mo Salah continues to entertain on and off the pitch. Swiftie or not, Liverpool fans are hoping his arrows keep hitting the back of the net!
