PSG’s surprising move: Salary agreement reached with Liverpool target but transfer Still Uncertain

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have reportedly reached a salary agreement with Liverpool target and Atalanta BC forward Ademola Lookman, but the transfer saga is far from over.

Despite the salary deal, PSG are still weighing their options and haven’t fully committed to signing the Nigerian international.

Lookman pushes for PSG move amid growing Tensions

Ademola Lookman is eager to make the switch to PSG, turning down significant interest from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli. The Saudi side had hoped to pair Lookman with stars like Riyad Mahrez and Brentford’s Ivan Toney, but the 26-year-old has his sights set on Paris.

Lookman’s desire to join PSG has not gone down well with his current club, Atalanta. The Serie A side is reportedly upset with Lookman’s attitude, particularly after he missed their season opener against US Lecce. The absence has only fueled rumors that a transfer is imminent.

While PSG have yet to make an official offer to Atalanta, reports suggest that Lookman has already agreed to personal terms that would make him one of the highest-paid Nigerian footballers in Europe. However, Atalanta may not make it easy for him to leave, as they value the winger at €60 million—nearly double what PSG are willing to pay.

Lookman’s rise in value comes after a standout season where he played a crucial role in Atalanta’s Europa League triumph. Having joined from RB Leipzig for €9 million after a successful loan spell at Leicester City, his market value has since quadrupled, making him a hot commodity in this summer’s transfer market.

As the transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen whether PSG will meet Atalanta’s demands or if Lookman will have to stay in Italy for another season or is there any chance Liverpool could land him.
