Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite is lately being linked with a move towards Everton’s Merseyside rivals Liverpool.
Branthwaite was the main target for Manchester United in early stages of the transfer window. United also had two bids rejected by Everton.
Liverpool interested in Jarrad Branthwaite?
Branthwaite was one of the best players for Everton last season which was difficult season for them. He started 35 games for Everton in the Premier League last season having spent the previous season on loan at PSV Eindhoven. His performances also earned him a call up to England’s provisional squad for the Euros.
Branthwaite’s odds on joining Liverpool have surprisingly dropped over the last 24 hours. He is currently at 2/1 odds for a potential surprise transfer to Liverpool, with United at 3/1 to secure his signature. Manchester City (4/1) and Real Madrid (12/1) are also in the running as possible destinations for the England international.
However there are no credible reports linking Jarrad Branthwaite to Liverpool, speculation has led to the shifting of odds, it often occurs due to the large amounts of bets placed.
Branthwaite would be a good addition for Liverpool if Joe Gomez decides to leave. A left sided center-back is a position for Liverpool to upgrade and Jarrad Branthwaite is great option.
Everton’s valuation for Branthwaite is around 70 million euros, it is unclear if Liverpool are willing to pay that amount for the defender.
