Pep Guardiola and Mo Salah held a long chat with each other after Liverpool’s 2-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium over Manchester City on Sunday.

Slot’s men also extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to 11 points following the win.

Mohammed Salah played a key part in the Reds’ first victory at the home of the reigning Premier League champions since Pep Guardiola became manager.

The Egyptian scored the first goal with a deflected shot, after a corner routine straight from the training ground was executed perfectly.

In the 37th minute, Salah became the first player across Europe’s top five leagues since Lionel Messi [2014-2015] to score and assist in 11 league matches in the same season, as he provided the assist for Dominik Szoboszlai, who found the bottom corner with style.

Guardiola shares a moment with Salah

After the match, Man City manager Guardiola and Liverpool forward Mo Salah bumped into each other in the tunnel and held a long chat in that period. This was a class gesture by Pep Guardiola despite his team falling short on the day.

A video on X posted by AnythingLFC, captured Salah and Guardiola in high spirits having a conversation and seemingly sharing advice.

Pep Guardiola has done this with a host of other players previously, and Mo Salah was the latest beneficiary of the classy gesture by the City boss.

While the exact content of their discourse is unknown, Guardiola could have been congratulating Mo after he scored his 30th goal of the season.

Alongside the wonderful goal tally, Salah has also added 20 assists in that time bringing his total goal contributions for the season to stand at 50.

The match on Sunday was one of setting records for Liverpool’s No. 11, as he became the first player to score 25+ goals and provide 15+ assists in the same Premier League season.

The Egyptian also became the first player in Premier League history to score a goal and give an assist in both matches against the defending PL champions within the same league campaign.
