Opta supercomputer has provided the latest Premier League title winners’ prediction and Liverpool face a major blow after their recent loss.
The Reds faced a demoralising 2-1 defeat on Sunday evening against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, which saw them lose their top spot in the PL points table.
Arsenal, the current first-place holders, lead the league title race with 16 points in seven matches, leading by one point ahead of the Merseysiders, who, after two consecutive PL losses, sit second with 15 points.
Even though the defending PL champions were at the forefront of the predicted title contenders this season, the recent losses have seen their chances of retaining the glory drastically fall.

Opta Premier League prediction: Liverpool odds take big hit
Prior to the beginning of the 2025-26 season, Opta Analyst provided the odds regarding which English club would conquer this term’s competition.
For the uninitiated, the Opta supercomputer runs 10,000 simulations of the competitions and based on that, it provides the data of the projected chances of clubs winning the title and average projected points.
According to the pre-season data, Liverpool led the chart with a 28.5% chance of winning the title, with an average projected point total of 73.2.
Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea followed them with 24.3%, 18.8% and 8.8% chances, respectively.
LFC were going strong with this prediction till the beginning of gameweek 7, with a 48.04% title chance.
However, as per the latest Opta data projections, the Gunners lead the race to win the PL this season with a 44.23% title chance and a 77.11 projected point total.
The Merseyside giants have slipped to second place in the projected points table, just like the actual points table, with a 30.61% title chance and a projected point total of 74.91.

However, keeping in mind that these are just predictions, there is an ample amount of time remaining with 31 games still unplayed for Arne Slot & Co. to prove themselves and to prove the predictions wrong.
Hopefully, the Dutch tactician will find a solution to the ongoing problems and Liverpool will come back stronger after the imminent international break to host and potentially demolish Manchester United at Anfield.
