Alexander Isak Transfer Update

Liverpool are reportedly pushing hard for Alexander Isak. The Swedish striker apparently wants the move.

Newcastle, though, are standing firm — and one big problem might keep this transfer from crossing the line.

Isak has made his stance clear. As per reports, he does not want to stay at St. James’ Park.

The 25-year-old was left out of Newcastle’s pre-season tour in Asia and is now training alone in Spain, at his former club Real Sociedad.

The message? He’s ready to walk through the Anfield gates.

Liverpool, smelling opportunity, sent in their first official bid. That offer — reportedly over £100 million but under £120 million — was knocked back quickly.

Newcastle say he’s not for sale unless they find a top-quality replacement. And that’s the catch.

Will Liverpool make another bid for Alexander Isak?

They likely will. The Reds have money left to spend and have already brought in Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz.

But adding Isak would take their summer spending past £300 million — and likely require a British transfer record to seal it.

Still, Isak wants the move. His representatives have reportedly already turned down Newcastle’s offer of a new deal with a release clause for 2026. He’s not interested in waiting.

But Newcastle have a major headache. Their pursuit of replacements like Yoane Wissa has hit a wall.

Brentford won’t sell Wissa unless they sign a new forward first. The Magpies also have doubts about Benjamin Sesko, who’s on Manchester United’s radar.

Options like Ollie Watkins and Nicolas Jackson have been mentioned, but nothing is close.

Without a striker lined up, Newcastle are unlikely to greenlight Isak’s sale — no matter how much money is on the table. Until that changes, this saga dribbles on.

Isak is ready to score goals in red. Liverpool are ready to pay. But Newcastle’s striker search is stuck in offside territory.
