Alexander Isak Transfer Update

Newcastle reportedly interested in signing a Liverpool transfer target as Alexander Isak’s future remains uncertain.

Liverpool have shortlisted three major names to replace Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan will reportedly leave the club this summer, as several clubs are vying for his services. Serie A Champions Napoli are currently favourites to sign him, as per various sources.

On the other hand, Arne Slot has already started his search to find a suitable striker, as he might not want to waste time — just like he didn’t when replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold with Jeremie Frimpong. Liverpool have already completed their major signings in the summer rebuild, announcing Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez last month.

Reports say Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, and Victor Osimhen are currently on the Merseyside club’s radar for the centre-forward role. The 25-year-old Swedish striker is reportedly the favourite for the Reds.

As David Ornstein reveals, “If the door was open for Isak, Liverpool would look to try and walk through it, but Newcastle don’t intend to open that door. Let’s see what he wants to do and when they return to pre-season training, what his mindset is at.”

As Newcastle are still trying to keep Isak for the upcoming season, Liverpool might also be preparing to push harder for the striker in the coming days. As Fabrizio Romano indicates, Newcastle might be shortlisting potential replacements if they can’t keep Alexander Isak.

Newcastle interested in Liverpool transfer target

Fabrizio Romano reveals Hugo Ekitike is on Newcastle’s radar. The French forward has been attracting interest from Premier League clubs, with Liverpool and Chelsea both eyeing him since June.

The French forward had a great season last year, scoring 15 goals in 33 matches for the German side Frankfurt. Liverpool had shortlisted him earlier when reports first emerged about Darwin Nunez’s possible departure.
