Liverpool’s talisman Mo Salah is on the brink of yet another historic achievement as the Reds prepare to host Leicester City on Boxing Day at Anfield.
The 32-year-old Egyptian has been unstoppable this season. He is tormenting defences with his lethal finishing and creative brilliance, despite ongoing uncertainty over his contract situation.
In Sunday’s exhilarating 6-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, Salah contributed two goals and two assists. He has become the first player to score and assist at least 10 goals in a Premier League season before Christmas. Remarkably, Salah has achieved this feat in six different campaigns, solidifying his status as one of the league’s all-time greats.

Currently, Mo Salah is leading both the Golden Boot and Playmaker Award races with 15 goals and 11 assists. And now he has another milestone in his sights. A single goal against Leicester will make him the eighth player in Premier League history to score 100 home goals.
What sets Salah apart is the pace at which he’s reached this tally. If he hits the century mark in his 142nd home game, he’ll do so faster than legends like Robbie Fowler and Wayne Rooney, and just behind Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, and Sergio Aguero.
Mo Salah ready for Premier League glory
Boxing Day has been a fruitful occasion for Salah in the past. With two goals and four assists across previous festive fixtures, he shares the record for most direct goal involvements on Boxing Day with Raheem Sterling and Son Heung-min.
Liverpool, sitting atop the table and brimming with confidence, are heavy favourites against a struggling Leicester side. The Foxes, currently languishing in the lower half of the table. They will face an uphill battle, especially with doubts over the fitness of Jamie Vardy.
The veteran striker has haunted Liverpool in the past. He has scored 10 goals against the Reds, but his absence could further tip the scales in Liverpool’s favour.
History also backs the Reds, as Leicester haven’t won at Anfield in their last 12 attempts, with their previous triumph dating back to the year 2000.
As Salah continues to rewrite Premier League records, all eyes will be on him to deliver another iconic performance in front of the Anfield faithful. Will he add another chapter to his legendary career this Boxing Day?
