Mohamed Salah believes Liverpool’s mentality is what separates them from the rest. After another late winner at Turf Moor, the forward underlined why the champions never stop pushing.
After a dominant performance that rarely looked decisive, the champions relied on a 95th-minute penalty to edge past Burnley, extending their perfect Premier League start.
Salah’s late strike didn’t just win the game, it pushed him into fourth place on the Premier League’s all-time top scorers list, surpassing Andy Cole with 188 goals.
Yet even that milestone felt secondary to his message: Liverpool will grind, fight and push the limit to win games, even when nothing seems to be going their way.

Salah on adapting to new roles in Slot’s system
Burnley held firm for much of the match, defending deep and making life difficult for the Reds.
Alexander Isak, Liverpool’s recent marquee signing, remained unavailable, a tactical detail that raised questions about how Slot plans to rotate and maintain intensity.
Slot admitted that several new players still have to adapt to his system.
Salah noted speaking to Sky Sport (via Liverpool FC) that:
“The players are adapting to our system. We had a few new players in the starting line-up. It takes time to adapt their game to our game.
“We try to make them comfortable in a game. Alex [Isak] also came last week and he’s going to be in the team. We try to find the balance.”
He added: “We don’t give up. We just try to push ourselves and our team to the limit.”
Liverpool have won all four of their opening Premier League fixtures this season and each of the first three matches was sealed with a late goal. Burnley marked the fourth in a row.
Salah’s goal also came from the penalty awarded after a handball by Hannibal Mejbri in stoppage time.
That finish added another moment of drama to the season and showed once more why Liverpool have become known for late comebacks.
Fans will relish the result, but this stretch also raises expectations: more consistency, more dominance and fewer nervy finishes.
