Mohamed Salah and his amazing PFA Awards achievement

Mohamed Salah is the only player who has won the award in the last five years despite City dominance.

The Egyptian forward won the PFA Player’s Player of the Year award in 2022 after his individually brilliant 2021-22 season.

Salah is also the only Liverpool player who has secured his name in the list of the winners twice, winning it first time back in 2018.

Apart from the 32-year-old winger, three other Liverpool greats namely Steven Gerrard in 2006, Luis Suarez in 2014 and Virgil van Dijk in 2019 has been elected as the winner in this century.

Van Dijk has also been been elected in the PFA Men’s Team of the Year this year for the fourth time in his Premier League career.

Salah is one of the only seven players who has won this award twice along with Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Kevin De Bruyne, Mark Hughes and Alan Shearer.

These records have brought up the Reds’ attacker’s name in conversations and shows that why he is regarded so highly in the world and among the fans.
