Liverpool are cruising in their Premier League opener against Ipswich Town, with star man Mo Salah stealing the headlines yet again.
The Reds are up 2-0 by the 70th minute, and Salah has not only scored but also set a new Premier League record.
The match’s first goal came from Diogo Jota, with Salah playing a key role. In the 35th minute, Salah slipped in behind Ipswich’s high line, exploiting the space perfectly.
He squared the ball to Jota, who calmly guided it past goalkeeper Christian Walton, giving Liverpool the lead.

However, it was in the 65th minute that Salah made history. After a quick interplay at the edge of the box, Salah received the ball on the right side and slotted it home with precision.
This goal marked his ninth on an opening day in the Premier League, breaking the record he previously shared with legends Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney, and Frank Lampard.
This performance is just what new Liverpool manager Arne Slot would have hoped for in his first competitive match in charge. With Salah in such form, the Reds look set to make a strong start to their 2024/25 campaign.
The match ended with the Reds securing all three points on the opening day in what has been a promising start under Slot’s leadership.
