Ex-Liverpool player Markus Babbel has stated that one of the GOATs [Greatest of all time] is the only player in the world who is on the same level as Liverpool star Mo Salah.
Salah is having a stellar season even by his standards so far this term and has been touted as a favorite to claim the Ballon d’Or prize for his exceptional displays for the Merseyside club.
The forward has netted 28 goals and contributed a further 19 assists in 36 matches across all competitions this season.
The Liverpool No. 11 did not make the top 30 in the last rankings of the coveted award, which was claimed by Manchester City’s Rodri, who pipped Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior to claim the prize.

Markus Babbel makes Mo Salah and Messi comparisons
Babbel believes Salah is clear of all other possible candidates for the best player in the world award whilst adding that Argentina legend and Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi is the only player close to the Egyptian at the moment.
According to GOAL, the former Liverpool player said,
“I’ve only seen one player on Mohamed Salah’s level with a similar record, it’s Lionel Messi. You look at his goal record and it’s like he’s a number 9, but he’s a winger!”
He added saying,
“The goal record is not normal, I can only compare him to Messi with that goal scoring power. It’s not just the last season either, it’s the last ten years, his level is truly world class.”
“I’m so surprised that he has never been in the running for the Ballon d’Or, I can’t believe he has never been in the top three because he’s the best player in the world in his position.
Salah has a real chance to win it this year, he deserves it though.”
Mo Salah’s performances have helped Liverpool run riot in the Premier League and sit atop the standings, while they have also secured passage to the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, as well as claiming top spot in the new look league phase.
Liverpool hold a seven-point lead over Arsenal and will look to improve their lead to ten with a victory over Aston Villa. Having Salah fit and firing, as he has all season keeps them in the driving seat to claim the Premier League crown.
