It is finally looking like Liverpool are making summer transfer activity as it has been reportedly confirmed that the Merseyside club is revealing plans for the summer transfer window.

According to multiple reports, the Reds will be looking to sign a new No. 9 this summer and this will pave the way for one striker at the club to depart.

Liverpool have seen a slump in form of late, as they have only won once in their last four matches. Following the draw at Villa, Darwin Nunez missed a big chance to claim the victory after he was brought on as a substitute for Diogo Jota.

The Reds are said to be looking to bring in another top striker who would fit more into Arne Slot’s style of play, and the ambitions of the Dutch manager going forward.

The first summer transfer move of Liverpool?

It has been revealed that the table-topping Premier League club is looking to make an upgrade in their striking department and will be looking to offload Darwin Nunez to facilitate the possibility of bringing in another central forward.

The Reds turned down offers for the Uruguayan in the winter transfer window as they looked to maintain oneness in the squad and not disrupt momentum in Slot’s team.

But given recent performances from Nunez and his most recent open goal miss against Villa, they seem to have taken a turn from the decision they made in January.

Two Liverpool reporters James Pearce and David Lynch insist that the sale of Nunez in the summer is very likely. According to teamtalk, Pearce wrote,

“The former Benfica striker has regressed rather than kicked on in his third season at Anfield and a parting of ways looks increasingly likely come the summer.”

David Lynch also said “Darwin Nunez will 100% leave Liverpool this summer and I think that’s pretty much nailed on.”

The journalist also added “I’m pretty sure he will go to Saudi Arabia because the interest was there in January and the player was keen on the move too.”

Multiple sources indicate that Liverpool will not prevent Darwin Nunez from leaving the club this summer and have reportedly set an asking price of around £60m for the 25-year-old striker.
