Liverpool’s switch back to Adidas has barely been announced – okay, it has not actually been officially announced – but the first kit for the 2025/26 season has already mysteriously leaked online. Because who does not love a good “leak” to stir up excitement?
After a final fling with Nike this season, Liverpool are reuniting with Adidas after a 13-year breakup. You might remember Adidas from their previous stint kitting out the Reds between 1985-1996 and again from 2006-2012. Producing some of the most iconic kits in the club’s history.
Naturally, expectations are sky-high for this nostalgic reunion. But, wait for it – the first leaked design is not even the home or away kit. Nope, it is the goalkeeper shirt.
Because clearly, when fans dream of a shiny new Adidas collection, their first thought is always, “What will Alisson be wearing next season?” Cue the excitement.
Liverpool’s Adidas kit revealed
According to the Footy Headlines, this thrilling reveal shows that the 2025/26 goalkeeper shirt will be… black. Yes, you heard that right, black, with some light green detailing thrown in for the Adidas, LFC, and Standard Chartered logos, along with the famous Adidas three stripes down the sleeves.
Oh, and there is a dark grey accent on the sleeves, too. What a groundbreaking stuff here. For the true kit connoisseurs, the shirt is based on Adidas’ new 25 Tiro Goalkeeper Competition template, which will reportedly be seen across their range of goalkeeper kits next season.
This probably means that every other club with Adidas as their supplier will get some version of this super “innovative” design. While a new goalkeeper shirt is not exactly the type of thing to get fans’ hearts racing, it at least gives a sneak peek of what Adidas might bring to the table.
If you are holding out for a jaw-dropping home, away, or third kit reveal for the rest of the team, you might have to wait a bit longer. After all, leaks like this tend to trickle out slowly to keep fans on the edge of their seats.
So, Liverpool fans, while you wait for the big reveal, you can now rest easy knowing what your goalkeeper will be sporting as he keeps out goals next season. Exciting times. Sort of.
