Arne Slot will close out Liverpool’s pre-season tour of Asia with a friendly against Yokohama F. Marinos on Wednesday.
The match, to be played at Nissan Stadium, offers the Reds one last tune-up before heading back to Merseyside.
With Luis Diaz and Joe Gomez out and Alisson returning home for personal reasons, the squad will look slightly different, but still strong.
Their opponents, Yokohama, are struggling in the J1 League and are mid-season, giving Liverpool a perfect fitness test.
After using 21 players in the 4-2 loss to AC Milan, Slot is likely to field two distinct lineups across both halves.

Two XIs expected for Yokohama clash
Despite a few key departures, Slot still has the depth to roll out two balanced teams.
In the first half, Giorgi Mamardashvili is expected to start in goal.
Wataru Endo could shift to centre-back alongside Ibrahima Konaté, allowing Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike to lead the line.
A likely starting XI for the first half could be:
- Mamardashvili
- Frimpong, Konaté, Endo, Robertson
- Morton, Jones, Wirtz
- Salah, Ngumoha, Ekitike
At half-time, wholesale changes are expected.
Ryan Gravenberch could slot into defence with Virgil van Dijk, while Harvey Elliott takes the No. 10 role behind Darwin Nunez.
A second-half XI might look like:
- Mamardashvili
- Bradley, Gravenberch, Van Dijk, Kerkez
- Nyoni, Szoboszlai, Elliott
- Doak, Gakpo, Nunez
Backup options including Freddie Woodman, Armin Pecsi and Kornel Misciur remain available.
Kostas Tsimikas and Luca Stephenson offer utility and Alexis Mac Allister could return if fit.
Even with ongoing transfer noise and injury setbacks, Slot’s ability to put out two solid teams reflects both Liverpool’s squad quality and the growing competition for places as the 2025/26 season approaches.
