Real Sociedad’s president Jokin Aperribay has denied rumours of Takefusa Kubo joining Liverpool amidst heavy links with the club.
With the transfer window open for more than a month, Liverpool and Fulham are the only clubs in the Premier League yet to make a signing.
The Athletic reported yesterday that Liverpool will start making signings only in August when Arne Slot has the whole squad available.
Takefusa Kubo Will Not Leave Real Sociedad
Real Sociedad are in Japan for their pre-season tour and are gearing up to play their second friendly match against Gamba Osaka.
The president Jokin Aperribay has also travelled with the team and has done media duties.
Real Sociedad President Jokin Aperribay on Liverpool interest in Kubo:
“There is nothing with Kubo, there is no possibility of him leaving . Anything can happen in the market, but I think Take Kubo is very happy at Real Sociedad, he will stay and there are no negotiations with any team.
We love Take a lot, he is a great lad and I hope he stays at Real forever.”
According to the rumours Liverpool were set to make Takefusa Kubo the most expensive and the highest-paid Japanese player of all time.
Liverpool were reportedly readying a £55 million offer to sign Kubo and were also offering him a £12.5 million annual salary.
Now with Takefusa Kubo unlikely to leave, Liverpool will have to search for other candidates with rumours linking Mohammed Kudus already coming up.
