Liverpool Transfer News: latest on Zubimendi, Carvalho and more

Transfer window is heating up for Liverpool lately with Martin Zubimendi interest and Carvalho bids, Van Deb Berg and Morton exits. Here are the latest Liverpool news.

Latest On Liverpool target Martin Zubimendi

News of interest in Zubimendi broke out yesterday. All top tier journalist came out with the news regarding Zubimendi.

Latest from David Ornstein of The Athletic:

“Real Sociedad expect midfielder Martin Zubimendi to agree a move to Liverpool, according to numerous people familiar with the situation at the Spanish club.”

“Liverpool have been exploring a deal to sign Zubimendi as they work to strengthen Arne Slot’s squad with a new No 6 but a move for the Spain international is complicated by his €60million (£51.7m; $63.4m) release clause needing to be paid in full — if the La Liga club are not willing to negotiate a fee below that figure.”

All reports indicate that Zubimendi will likely be the first signing for Liverpool under Arne Slot. Fans hope Zubimendi’s agent, Inaki Ibanez, will provide an edge due to his well-known relationship with Sporting Director Richard Hughes.

Latest On Fabio Carvalho

Southampton and Leicester both want to sign Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool. Liverpool rejected a £15 million bid from Southampton, but Southampton is expected to bid again for the 21-year-old.

Leicester had also entered the race to sign Carvalho. Leicester haven’t put an official bid yet, they will start talks with the club soon.

Carvalho had impressed in pre-season, scoring 2 goals in three matches. If Liverpool does decide to sell Carvalho it would help them with Zubimendi deal financially.

Latest On Tyler Morton And Sepp Van Den Berg

Tyler Morton and Sepp Van Den Berg seek more playtime, which Liverpool cannot guarantee. RB Leipzig, among others, wants Morton, valued at £20 million.

PSV Eindhoven, Hoffenheim, Mainz, and more clubs are interested in Van Den Berg. The club’s plans for Morton and Van Den Berg remain unclear, but they are expected to make a decision soon.
