Ibrahima Konate Transfer Update

Liverpool have made their move in the transfer chessboard — and Ibrahima Konate is now at the center of the game.

With the 26-year-old defender heading into the final year of his contract, the Reds are eager to avoid another situation like Trent Alexander-Arnold’s exit to Real Madrid.

So, they’ve done what any top club would do in the face of rising interest from Spain’s biggest giants: they’ve reportedly offered him a fresh deal. A new and improved one, at that.

But here’s the catch — Konate hasn’t apparently signed it yet.

The French international has become a vital part of Liverpool’s backline since his arrival from RB Leipzig. Calm on the ball, strong in the air, and fearless in tackles, he’s grown into a top defender.

And now, Real Madrid — experts at picking up stars on the cheap — have their eyes firmly on him.

Liverpool offered new contract to Ibrahima Konate?

Yes, they did, if we believe the reports. According to Foot Mercato, Liverpool recently sent Konate a new contract proposal with better terms.

Journalist Santi Aouna stated: “Understand that Ibrahima Konate has received a new offer from Liverpool. New improved proposal has been sent to the French defender.”

However, the Reds’ proactive approach has yet to seal the deal. The same report claims:
“Despite their proactive stance, Konate has yet to respond to Liverpool’s new offer, and sources suggest the allure of playing for Real Madrid is appealing to him.”

It’s clear Liverpool don’t want to lose another core player without a fee. But they also know Madrid’s charm isn’t easy to ignore — especially for a French defender dreaming of the Bernabeu lights.

Konate, reportedly, still prefers to stay at Anfield. But stalled talks are making Liverpool fans sweat more than a penalty shootout in a cup final.
