Liverpool transfer activity faces criticism as Arsenal and Marseille express dissatisfaction, with ongoing speculation about player moves and disputes.
Pre-Season
Liverpool’s pre-season tour in the United States continued on Monday with preparations for their upcoming friendly against Arsenal in Philadelphia.
After a narrow 1-0 victory over Real Betis in Pittsburgh, Liverpool are gearing up to face the Premier League runners-up at Lincoln Financial Field.
Meanwhile, Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan addressed a tragic incident in Southport, expressing the club’s condolences and support for the victims and their families.
“Our thoughts are with the victims of the families,”
Hogan stated.
Soccer Camp
The pre-season tour has seen Liverpool hosting a summer soccer camp at Philadelphia Union’s Subaru Park, a move that reportedly displeased Arsenal.
The Gunners were not happy with Liverpool’s use of the Lincoln Financial Field for their event, as it was believed Arsenal had hoped to use the venue for their own preparations.
This scheduling conflict added a layer of tension to their upcoming match.
Liverpool Transfer Activity Slowed
Liverpool are also facing scrutiny over their transfer activity, being the only Premier League club yet to sign a player this summer.
In contrast, Arsenal recently revealed the £42 million signing of Riccardo Calafiori.
Speculation surrounds Liverpool’s transfer plans, with an ongoing interest in players like Wataru Endo, who is reportedly attracting interest from Marseille.
