Valencia manager expects their goalkeeper, Liverpool target ,to stay at the club, stating there are no plans for his departure despite ongoing transfer speculation.
Valencia boss Ruben Baraja has voiced out his confidence that his first-choice Goalie, Giorgi Mamardashvili will stay at the club in spite of the lure from Liverpool and Manchester United.
The Keeper who gained attention with his performance at Euro 2024 representing Georgia, has now been linked with a move to the Premier League, where both Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly interested in securing his services.
Liverpool are reportedly seeing Mamardashvili, as a potential successor to Alisson Becker and could become a reliable player between the sticks for the Reds.
On the other hand Manchester United are not in dire need of the Valencia’s Goalie, they want to use him as a competition for Andre Onana.
Liverpool target expected to stay says Valencia Boss
Ruben Baraja manager of the La Liga side Valencia was clear stating that,
“It’s very simple. He’s our player, and as long as there is no other different situation, I’m not going to evaluate anything,”
“He’s here, he’s ready to participate. We can’t talk about situations that haven’t happened yet.”
With the transfer deadline approaching, Valencia faces the challenge of retaining their star keeper or finding a suitable replacement if a deal is struck.
Liverpool fans are expecting their club to come out of this deal with flying colors, as they dont want another disappointment like Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.
