Jamie Gittens has officially handed in a transfer request at Borussia Dortmund. The young winger wants to leave this summer.

Liverpool have long admired the 20-year-old English talent. Now, they have a real chance to sign him. He has impressed despite a mixed season in Germany.

He completed more take-ons than any Bundesliga player this season. He averages 8.8 dribbles per 90 minutes, with a strong success rate of 62.28%. These stats excite Liverpool scouts.

The winger fits like a glove

Arne Slot wants direct, one-on-one wingers in his system. The English winger fits that style perfectly and could thrive under Slot. His pace and dribbling ability cause chaos in wide areas.

He creates space and breaks down defence with ease. His passing needs improvement, averaging just 25 passes per 90 minutes. However, at 20, he has time to develop.

Liverpool previously targeted Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in January. They didn’t complete the deal, but still want a new left-winger.

Luis Diaz could be sold this summer. That opens a spot Gittens could fill immediately at Anfield.

Gittens to Liverpool – a true possibility

The former Manchester City academy player followed the Sancho and Bellingham path. He’s now ready for a Premier League return.

German journalist Patrick Berger reports Dortmund will accept Gittens’ departure. They have lowered his price after a poor second half.

Football Transfers values the Dortmund winger at more than €70 million. However, Liverpool may negotiate a lower fee due to his recent form.

Gittens wants to return to England. Liverpool are well-positioned to land him ahead of other clubs. He would also count as a homegrown player in the Premier League. That gives Liverpool an additional squad advantage.

Gittens is raw but promising. With coaching, he could become a world-class winger. Liverpool may act quickly to secure him.
