Liverpool are reportedly planning a surprise move for one of Europe’s brightest young forwards.

After a recent scouting trip, the Reds appear to have discovered a hidden gem who could soon light up Anfield — Kenan Yildiz, the 20-year-old Juventus starlet making waves in Italy and beyond.

The Reds’ scouts were spotted in Sofia, Bulgaria, watching Yildiz play for Turkey in their World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria. The youngster didn’t disappoint.

He bagged two goals in a commanding 6-1 win, leaving scouts with plenty to report back to Liverpool’s recruitment team.

Sources from Turkish Football claim the display has strengthened Liverpool’s interest in the forward, who has now scored eight goals for club and country this season.

Arne Slot’s men have had a mixed start to their campaign. After a strong opening run, the team has stumbled with three losses in a row.

That form has reportedly pushed the club to start looking ahead to the January transfer window, despite a big summer where they brought in Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak.

A hidden gem shining bright

Yildiz’s rapid rise has caught the eye of several top European clubs. Reports suggest Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea are also keeping tabs on the Turkish international. Liverpool, however, seem keen to move quickly before the competition heats up further.

Juventus, who tied Yildiz down to a long-term contract, reportedly value him at around £75–90 million — a steep fee, but perhaps worth it for a player seen as one of Europe’s next big stars. Yildiz’s ability to play across the front line makes him an exciting fit for Slot’s flexible attacking system.

The young forward developed in Bayern Munich’s academy before joining Juventus in 2022, where he quickly impressed enough to earn the No.10 shirt — once worn by club legend Alessandro Del Piero.

Yildiz’s pace, dribbling, and creativity could make him an ideal successor to Mohamed Salah, who is now in the later stages of his Liverpool career. The club’s scouts reportedly believe Yildiz’s mix of flair and work rate would fit perfectly into Slot’s high-energy, pressing approach.

Liverpool fans might be wondering — could Yildiz be the next young star to walk through the Shankly Gates and make history? The club seems to think it’s worth finding out.
