Liverpool could be planning another big summer move for next season — and this time, it might just shock the Premier League.
According to Mail Sport journalist Lewis Steele, the Reds are keeping close tabs on Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, with talks around a possible 2026 swoop starting to gather pace.
Liverpool have already shown their ambition in recent windows, reportedly spending over £400 million this year on major reinforcements, including Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak.
But even after such bold spending, the club’s recruitment team seems far from done.
In his column, Steele responded to a fan’s question about Liverpool’s next targets by saying, “Yes, there is a chance.”
He went on to describe Olise as “certainly one to watch for next summer,” hinting that the French winger could become a serious option if Bayern agree to sell.

Could Michael Olise be the next Salah?
Olise’s form in Germany has been turning heads. Since joining Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace, the 23-year-old has found new consistency, delivering five goals and six assists already this season.
He even earned praise from his teammate Dayot Upamecano, who called him “a magician” after France’s 2–0 win over Ukraine, adding: “He can do everything. He can score, set up, and even defend.”
Steele noted that Olise has “gone from strength to strength since his move from Crystal Palace to the Bundesliga giants.” He added that the player “was superb at Selhurst Park but lacked consistency, which he has now found in Germany.”
It’s easy to see why Liverpool would be interested. At 23, Olise offers creativity, precision, and control — traits that could make him a natural successor to Mohamed Salah on the right wing. He also brings something Liverpool value deeply: Premier League experience.

“Watch This Space,” says Steele
In a curious aside, Steele also mentioned: “The best wide forward at Bayern at the moment, while we are on the topic, is a certain Luis Diaz. How Liverpool have missed him in the last week! Olise could definitely be an option in the summer, though. Watch this space.”
That line caught the attention of fans and journalists alike. Was it simply admiration for Diaz — or a subtle reminder that Liverpool might soon need cover in that very position?
Olise’s market value reportedly sits near £100 million, but Liverpool have shown before that price tags don’t scare them when the player fits their vision.
For a club known for shaping stars into superstars, Olise represents both continuity and evolution — a player who blends youth, experience, and flair.
