Some Liverpool players are going to leave Liverpool at the end of this season. However, good news for all the Liverpool fans as their star defender is set to sign a new deal.
Liverpool star defender Ibrahima Konate will likely sign a new contract with the club as soon as possible.
Ibrahima Konate joined the Reds on a free transfer from RB Leipzig in 2021 on a five-year contract, which will keep him in the club until 2026.
However, the club wants to give the 25-year-old defender a new deal to avoid a free transfer. According to the latest news, there will be a huge change in the contract of Konate in terms of wages.
The representatives of Ibrahima Konate are likely to push for a wage of £200,000 per week from the existing wage of £80,000 per week.

Is Ibrahima Konate worthy of such wage
This certainly sparked debate among fans about his value to the team. Ibrahima Konate is no doubt playing better football this season. However, is this the right wage for a player like him?
Liverpool are currently paying the highest wage to Mohamed Salah, who is getting £350,000 per week. Then we have the wage of £220,000 per week for Virgil van Dijk.
These are only two players in the current Liverpool squad who are getting more than £200,000 per week.
So, all the Liverpool fans are questioning whether Ibrahima Konate is worth enough to get a wage of £200,000 per week.
However, there is no doubt that the defender is having a much better season compared to the last two seasons.
He is on the way to make more appearances this season compared to the appearances of in the last two seasons.
