Liverpool have just sealed the deal with Bayer Leverkusen to sign German midfielder Florian Wirtz for a record-breaking transfer fee.
According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement to bring Wirtz to Anfield in a deal worth around €150 million.
Wirtz (€150m) will become the third-most expensive signing of all time, just behind Neymar (€222m) and Kylian Mbappe (€180m), if all add-ons are met—making him the most expensive transfer in Liverpool’s history.
The Merseyside club aren’t stopping there, as they are also looking to bring in a new left-back. Hungarian defender Milos Kerkez is on Arne Slot’s radar as a top choice for that role this summer. The discussions are currently underway and are expected to be completed soon.
Apart from that, Arne Slot is also targeting a striker. Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak are reportedly among the top names on his list.
Meanwhile, with so many potential arrivals this summer, Argentine midfielder and Liverpool’s No. 10 has revealed his dream signing.

Mac Allister wants Cuti Romero at Liverpool
Mac Allister was asked about his dream signing for the summer transfer window, and he made it clear when he responded: “Oh, Cuti [Romero]. He’s a player I love. The way he speaks and plays, sometimes you feel like he’s too much because he makes everything so easy. He gives me confidence.”
The Argentine star wants his national teammate to become his club teammate as well. Tottenham defender Cristian ‘Cuti’ Romero played a key role in helping Spurs win the UEFA Europa League final in Bilbao against Manchester United—ending the club’s 17-year trophy drought.
Mac Allister added: “For me, he’s been the best centre-back in the world for several years.”
Liverpool are also reportedly in the market for a centre-back this summer. If Arne Slot considers strengthening the defence, Cuti Romero could be a top option.
