Alexander Isak transfer update

Liverpool are not expected to return with a second offer for Alexander Isak after their opening £110 million bid was firmly rejected by Newcastle United.

Despite having agreed personal terms with the striker earlier in the window, the club now considers any further attempt pointless unless Newcastle shift their position.

The Magpies quickly turned down Liverpool’s offer, making it clear that they have no intention of selling their star forward.

The refusal came even as Isak’s camp signaled a willingness to explore an Anfield move.

The Swede was absent from Newcastle’s recent pre-season trip to the Far East, officially due to a minor injury.

However, it was later revealed that he had requested to leave the club earlier this summer, and has since been training with former side Real Sociedad.

Isak’s future unclear after Liverpool rejection

Newcastle’s valuation of £150 million remains far above what Liverpool are prepared to pay, and unless that changes, no progress is expected.

Journalist Ben Jacobs confirmed that Liverpool view another offer as “futile” unless the Magpies make the next move.

As it stands, Newcastle are not engaging further, and Liverpool have stepped back from negotiations.

While the door remains slightly ajar if Newcastle initiate contact, no bid is forthcoming under the current circumstances.

Unless the situation shifts dramatically, Isak could now be set to stay at St. James’ Park, even though a transfer to Merseyside seemed a real possibility just days ago.
