Liverpool are preparing themselves for a bold move for signing Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite from their rivals Man Utd right under their nose.

The Liverpool rivals Man Utd have already kept a £50 million bid on the table for the Everton center-back Branthwaite and got green signal from the player, but the deal stalled due to Everton’s high asking price.

Now, the Reds are prepared to meet those demands by Everton, offering an initial fee of £63 million plus £7 million are add-ons, bringing the total toa whooping amount of £70 million.

This move would break a long-standing tradition of Liverpool not signing a Everton player, Abel Xavier was the last Everton player the Reds signed in 2002, adding more importance to this deal.

Liverpool stealing Man Utd signing

Getting Branthwaite would be a huge coup for Liverpool given the player’s potential and the rivalry between the two clubs.

One of the most talented young centre backs in England the 22-year-old would earn a healthy £180,000 per week if he were to join Anfield.

However Manchester United have changed its priorities choosing to heavily invest in other defensive options such as Lille’s Leny Yoro and bringing manager Erik ten Hag back together with Matthijs de Ligt his former captain of Ajax.

By making these choices United have essentially shut the door on adding a second center back putting Liverpool in a strong position to finalize Branthwaite’s signing.

Will Liverpool be able to snatch this deal for bolstering their defense to charge for the Premier League title?
