Trent Alexander-Arnold has announced his imminent departure from Liverpool at the end of the season and his teammates have reacted to the news.
Goodbyes are never easy and it most certainly isn’t easy when you’re leaving a place that you’ve known since your childhood.
With a heavy heart, Merseyside’s prodigal son, Alexander-Arnold has finally bid goodbye through a social media post to the club that he has loved since a young age and that has nurtured him into what he is today, ending a 20-year-long relationship.
The 26-year-old thanked fans, teammates, and staff, in the video posted via his socials, by saying,
“This club has been my whole world. From the Academy right through until now, the support I’ve felt will stay with me forever.”
There was a similar sense of ‘gratitude and appreciation’ from the club’s side as well, as the club’s official statement took into account the England international’s ‘immense contributions‘ to the Anfield giants’ glory in the recent past.
As it has been ‘confirmed’ by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, he will now be joining Real Madrid on a free transfer.
Trent will be reportedly earning €15m a year in a six-year deal which will be valid until 2031.
