With the arrivals of Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz already lighting up the summer window, Liverpool aren’t done just yet.
But with more than £200m potentially spent—including the imminent signing of Giorgi Mamardashvili—there’s a growing need for balance between ambition and compliance.
According to Daily Mail’s Lewis Steele,
“I’d imagine #LFC will now go for two more signings, a centre-back and a forward.
Anything else depends on outgoings and, with more than £200M [Including Mamardashvili] spent, they may have to be careful with profit and sustainability concerns.”
Liverpool’s rebuild under Arne Slot is in full swing. After sealing the Premier League title and pocketing an estimated £176m in prize and broadcast revenue (This Is Anfield), the club is pushing to remain competitive on all four fronts.

Liverpool spending big… but at what cost?
However, the shadow of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) looms. As per the rules, clubs cannot lose more than £105m over a rolling three-year period—a line Liverpool are carefully toeing.
The exits of Trent Alexander-Arnold (£10m) to Real Madrid and Nat Phillips (£3m) to West Brom have eased some financial strain.
At the same time, possible departures of Harvey Elliott, Jarell Quansah (Bayer Leverkusen), and even Darwin Núñez could further free up space. Núñez, in particular, is drawing interest from Napoli, while Elliott has admirers in Brighton.
Liverpool are reportedly keen on Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace to strengthen their backline, and Hugo Ekitike of Frankfurt is being considered as a flexible forward option—young, dynamic, and likely to suit Slot’s fluid attacking system.
Despite the heavy spending, there’s no panic at Anfield. But there is caution.
No club wants to follow in Everton’s footsteps and suffer points deductions. Liverpool’s recruitment team, led by Richard Hughes, knows the stakes.
The window remains open—and so does the opportunity for final touches. But every move now must be surgical.
The mission? Stay elite. Stay compliant. Win everything.
