Liverpool are making serious moves to secure Juventus winger Federico Chiesa, with talks intensifying on Tuesday.
The Reds have reportedly offered €15 million for the 26-year-old Italian, a bid that Juventus has accepted. However, the Merseyside club now faces the challenge of finalizing terms with Chiesa himself.
A race against Barcelona: Liverpool to win the race against Federico Chiesa?
While Liverpool are pushing hard, they’re not alone in the race. Barcelona remains keen on Chiesa, although there’s no word yet on whether the Spanish giants have matched Liverpool’s bid.
The winger’s future remains up in the air as both clubs vie for his signature.
Juventus has been in constant communication with Chiesa’s agent, Fali Ramadani, with meetings taking place on Tuesday to discuss the player’s next move.
Juventus’ technical director, Cristiano Giuntoli, and his team have been working closely with Ramadani, and it’s clear that a decision is imminent.
Chiesa, who has fallen out of favour at Juventus under new coach Thiago Motta, is reportedly open to joining Liverpool or Barcelona.
The Reds have tabled an attractive offer of €7 million per season for the Italian international, sweetening the deal with potential bonuses.
With Juventus giving the green light to Liverpool’s offer, all eyes are now on Chiesa. If Barcelona doesn’t act fast, the path for Chiesa to Anfield could be clear.
Juventus remains confident of finding a resolution soon, but whether Chiesa will be donning Liverpool red or Barcelona blue next season is still anyone’s guess.
