Trent Alexander-Arnold’s time at Liverpool is officially ending, with the England international set to join Real Madrid.

The long-rumoured move to the Bernabeu is now evident, marking the close of a defining era at Anfield. With the departure confirmed, Liverpool have already begun reshaping their plans at right-back.

According to the Liverpool ECHO, the club is actively seeking reinforcements and is committed to backing Conor Bradley as part of the new setup.

The young defender is expected to sign a new contract as a reward for his progress and growing importance within the squad.

Among the external options being monitored are Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen, known for his explosive attacking play and ability to operate in various roles.

Liverpool are also showing interest in Milos Kerkez and Jorrel Hato, both left-sided players, indicating a broader strategy to give Arne Slot the kind of flexible full-backs he prefers on both flanks.

Slot’s system relies on full-backs who are just as effective cutting inside as they are staying wide. That blueprint is now guiding Liverpool’s next steps, but Conor Bradley is already showing signs he could become a major part of the solution.

With Alexander-Arnold leaving, Liverpool are losing one of their most unique weapons. A true “game-breaker,” Trent could change matches with a single pass.

But in his final season, he also simplified his game, becoming more defensively solid, a trait Slot values. Conor Bradley has followed a similar path.

Once a classic Klopp-style full-back, charging up and down the line, he’s now far more complete. In his 23 appearances this season, he’s recorded three assists and shown maturity beyond his years.

His positioning, ball control, and ability to drift inside or support central play have all improved. Slot has already used Bradley in roles that align with his tactical vision.

The 20-year-old can now contribute both wide and between the posts, something Slot demands from his full-backs on both sides.

Liverpool don’t expect Bradley to be a Trent replica. But they do believe he can be a top-tier right-back in his own right. With more experience and the right guidance, he could grow into one of the team’s most important players in the Slot era.
