As the transfer window nears its conclusion Liverpool are beginning to increase its activity in the transfer market with the goal of making several transfers.
The Reds are the only team in Europe’s top five leagues not to have added a new player this summer but they have been busy securing lucrative exits for several young players.
Liverpool looking to pull transfers before the deadline
Bobby Clark has joined Red Bull Salzburg after spending £10 million where he will once again collaborate with former Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders.
Also in a potential £275 million deal Brentford signed Fabio Carvalho from Merseyside. Sepp van den Berg is expected to sign a contract worth £25 million with an additional £5 million after deciding to join Brentford.
An additional Liverpool off-season transaction involves Harvey Blair who is set to move to Portsmouth for £300000.
By securing the rights to match and sell-on clauses with these exits the club has demonstrated strategic thinking and may ultimately benefit financially. As the deadline draws near Liverpool might lose even more players from Anfield.
Veterans leaving Anfield
Joe Gomez’s future remains uncertain following the collapse of a £45 million move to Newcastle earlier in the transfer window.
And yet as he weighs his options he might still be moving. Both Nat Phillips and Tyler Morton will almost certainly be leaving because other teams are showing interest in them.
Young prospects like Ben Doak Owen Beck and Kaide Gordon are also linked to potential permanent or loan moves as Liverpool looks to balance their squad.
Stefan Bajcetic who struggled with injuries during his promising 2021–2022 Premier League season may also be considered for a loan out.
Marseille has unexpectedly expressed interest in Wataru Endo with a bid of £11 million which could indicate a late departure.
These potential departures could fetch Liverpool a substantial amount of money enabling them to make a few last-minute additions before the transfer window shuts.
