Liverpool may not be walking alone this summer — they’re walking fast and straight into transfer business. And it looks like the next name on Arne Slot’s wish list is Marc Guehi.

The Crystal Palace defender has now become a top target for Liverpool, with talks said to be in advanced stages.

According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Reds are working hard behind the scenes to get the deal done.

“Understand Marc Guehi is now at the top of the list for Liverpool,” Plettenberg posted on X. “Advanced talks are taking place between Liverpool and the 24 y/o centre-back, with Liverpool trying to close the deal.”

Guehi, who represented England at Euro 2024, still has a year left on his Palace contract. While it was earlier reported to expire in 2027, sources now suggest he could be a free agent next summer.

That has prompted Liverpool to act quickly before someone else makes a cheeky interception.

This could be termed as Liverpool’s sixth summer signing after already completing deals for Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Armin Pecsi, and Freddie Woodman.

Liverpool wants to sign Marc Guehi as Ibrahima Konate’s replacement?

This move may not just be about depth. There are growing whispers around Ibrahima Konate’s future at Anfield, and it’s not all music to Liverpool fans’ ears.

The French defender has entered the final year of his deal and is yet to commit to an extension. With interest circling, Liverpool could be planning for life without him — and Guehi looks like the man for the job.

At 24, the former Chelsea academy product already boasts solid Premier League experience. He’s quick, strong, and reads the game well — exactly the kind of defender Arne Slot needs to keep his back line solid like a Klopp-era clean sheet.

And let’s face it: Guehi has been a standout for Palace. Former England manager Gareth Southgate even called him “exceptional.” With that kind of praise and potential, it’s no wonder Liverpool are making their move now.

If this deal goes through, Guehi would be Liverpool’s sixth signing of the summer. So buckle up, Reds fans. The transfer window drama is just warming up.
