Journalist confirms – “It’s possible Liverpool not signing anyone”

Paul Joyce, the Liverpool correspondent for The Times, revealed that he wouldn’t be surprised if Liverpool doesn’t make a signing this transfer window.

It has been a disappointing transfer window so far for Liverpool. With zero signings made and key players out of contracts next year, Arne Slot believes the squad is not as bad as people think it is.

Lack of business in this transfer window has been frustrating for the fans as all the other teams have used the time to strengthen their squad. The reds did explore the possibility to sign Martin Zubimendi, but the player decided not to leave his boyhood club.

The weaknesses in the squad are clear as it did cost us the league last season. Signing a defensive midfielder and a defender were key to making this squad stronger. Paul Joyce believes the squad is not as bad as people make out.

“It’s possible, the squads not as bad as people make out. They won’t just sign someone for the sake of it. As it stands today I don’t think there is going to be another midfield signing. I don’t think unless something opportunistic comes around they’re looking to recruit a number 6 of that type”. Joyce on Liverpool not signing anyone.
